Grading AND drainage

Water is often the biggest factor in damage to homes.  Improper land grades and drainage systems around homes can cause severe problems such as:

• Flooding
• Foundation Damage
• Harmful Mold
• Hardscape settlement
• Swampy lawn area

Example 1 shows black mold that formed along the bottom of the foundation of a home that had a failed french drain.  Beside mold being toxic, the water behind the foundation causing this will eventually start to crack the foundation.

Example 2 illustrates the basic installation of a blanket drain which will catch surface run coming off of the hill and preventing: hardscape damage, excessive water reaching foundation, and a swampy lawn.
