In the past, CADD and hand sketched topographic drawings have been a great way to give our landscape customers a good idea of what we were proposing. They have shown scale, symmetry, location of components, and layout. But they were still vague. They were only able to show a single dimensional perspective. This would always bring up the questions: “How will this incorporate with the rest of my back yard?” “What will this look like from the inside of my house?” “How will this flow with the exterior of my home?” And the list goes on.
When we were dealing with regular shaped patios and basic landscape beds this wasn’t much of an issue. With the new products such as outdoor living spaces that incorporate outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, sitting walls, pavilion areas, waterfalls and other like components, it is imperative to give the customer the best insight possible. This gives them an understanding of what they are paying for and the best illustration of their property’s full landscape potential.
With this in mind, we researched for ways to improve our design capabilities to better serve our customers. The answer was 3-D Landscape Design. With computer aided 3 – D Landscape Designs we have finally been able to fully portray our finished projects to our customers in their entirety.
Picture 1 shows: Before picture of a past project.
As you can see, the 3D view gives the customer a far better understanding of what their project involves. These designs can include any component you can possibly think of for an exterior or interior design.
